Northwest Iowa — Only 14 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Monday in the four northwesternmost Iowa counties.

O’Brien County was up 4 cases in the last 24 hours at 1536 cases since the pandemic started. Sioux County was up 10 cases at 4204. Osceola County was unchanged at 600. Lyon County was also unchanged at 1188. An average of about one in every nine northwest Iowans in our area has now tested positive for COVID-19 since March.

There have been 116 COVID-related deaths of northwest Iowans since the pandemic began. Osceola County has had six deaths. Lyon County’s death toll is 21, Sioux’s is 41, and O’Brien’s is 48.

Recovery rates continue to increase:
Out of the 1,188 Lyon County residents who have had COVID-19, 958 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 81%.
Out of the 4,204 Sioux County residents who have had COVID-19, 3587 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 85%.
Out of the 1,536 O’Brien County residents who have had COVID-19, 1241 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 81%.
Out of the 600 Osceola County residents who have had COVID-19, 501 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 84%.
