Inwood, Iowa — A garage and its contents were destroyed in a fire on Saturday, November 11, 2017 near Inwood.

According to Inwood Fire Department Training Officer Matt Mydland, about 1:15 p.m., the Inwood Fire Department was called to the report of a garage fire in the 1800 mile of Cherry Avenue. That’s about a mile east of Lake Pahoja or less than a mile southwest of the West Lyon School.

The chief says the fire department saw the garage on fire as they approached the scene with six trucks and thirteen firefighters. He says they used water to fight the fire, which was contained to the garage, and within five minutes it was under control.

Mydland says no injuries were reported.

He says a nearby controlled burn spread to the single unattached garage, being used for storage.

Training Officer Mydland reports that while the garage and contents were totaled, they were of minimal value.
