George, Iowa — A George man was arrested by Lyon County authorities as the result of a traffic stop Saturday evening.

According to Lyon County authorities, about 6:15 Saturday evening one of their deputies pulled over a vehicle driven by 46-year old Robert Dale Van Gorp, of George. As a result of the stop, deputies say Van Gorp was charged with Operating While Intoxicated 3rd Offense, a Class D Felony, along with Driving While Suspended, Failure To Provide SR-22 Insurance and Failure to Have an Ignition Interlock Device, all Simple Misdemeanors.

Van Gorp was reportedly booked into the Lyon County Jail at Rock Rapids.
